Smartvoll

A transformation and extension project for the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, creating a dedicated center for materials science, research, and conservation. The proposal carefully integrates new timber structures within the existing historic fabric, preserving the character of the original hall while introducing contemporary laboratories, workshops, and educational spaces. The design establishes a clear connection between old and new, combining adaptive reuse with sustainable construction principles.
